Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about CatOps, pricing, features, security, and support.

Getting Started

What is CatOps?+
CatOps is a beverage operations platform that helps producers, co-packers, wineries, breweries, distilleries, and RTD teams manage inventory, production, lot tracking, receiving, shipping, and compliance visibility from one secure system.
How long does it take to get set up?+
Most operations are live within 1-2 weeks. Onboarding includes data migration from your current spreadsheets or systems, user setup, and a walkthrough for your team. White-glove onboarding is available for larger operations.
Do I need special hardware?+
No. CatOps runs in any modern web browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. QR code scanning works from any device with a camera. No special scanners or terminals required.
Can I try it before committing?+
Every plan starts with a demo conversation. We review your operation, walk you through the platform, and make sure it fits before you pay anything. No credit card required to request a demo.

Pricing & Plans

What is included in the base Inventory Tracker tier?+
Inventory tracking, item and location management, lot number tracking, QR code workflows, receiving and shipping logs with approvals, usage and adjustment logging, inventory valuation, basic reports, role-based access, and up to 50 users. All for $149/month.
Can I switch tiers later?+
Yes. You can upgrade or change your tier at any time. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle. Contact us if you need to add Wine Operations or Spirits Operations to an existing plan.
Is there a contract or commitment?+
Plans are month-to-month. No long-term contract required. You can cancel anytime. Pricing may vary for enterprise and co-packer tiers based on facility count and custom workflow needs.
What are the add-on costs?+
Additional facilities are $75/month per location. White-glove onboarding and data migration ranges from $500 to $2,500 one-time. Custom reports and workflows are quoted separately. API and integrations are coming as an Enterprise add-on.

Features & Capabilities

Does CatOps handle proof gallon calculations?+
Yes. Proof gallons are calculated automatically on every spirits batch based on the proof and volume you enter. This is included in the Spirits Operations tier and above.
Can I track wine gallons and beer batches?+
Yes. Wine gallon visibility and fermentation batch tracking are built into the Wine Operations tier. You can track wine, beer, cider, mead, and similar fermentation products through every stage from fermentation to packaging, with connections to lot numbers and compliance reporting.
How does QR code scanning work?+
Every QR code in CatOps can be scanned from any phone or tablet camera. You can assign QR codes to pallets, items, lots, and locations. Print custom QR sheets with editable titles and quantities. When inventory depletes, reassign the QR code to new stock.
Does CatOps support receiving and shipping?+
Yes. Receiving and shipping are included in the base Inventory Tracker tier. Log incoming materials with vendor, lot, and quantity tracking. Track outgoing shipments with BOL records and pallet references. Both have approval workflows and photo documentation.
What happens if our facility internet goes down?+
CatOps includes offline-aware workflows for production-floor actions. When a device loses connection, supported actions can be queued locally on that device and synced back to CatOps when internet service returns. The app shows an offline banner and tracks pending actions so operators know work is being held for sync instead of disappearing.
How is information handled while offline?+
Queued offline actions stay on the device that performed the work until the connection comes back. Once online, CatOps syncs those actions to the server and updates the central records. Teams should keep the browser tab open until sync completes, especially after receiving, moving, or adjusting inventory during an outage.
Can I manage multiple client brands in one system?+
Yes. CatOps is built for multi-tenant operations. Each company has complete data isolation. Co-packers can manage multiple client brands with full separation, pallet tracking, and storage fee visibility.

Compliance & Security

Does CatOps file TTB reports for me?+
CatOps does not file TTB reports automatically. However, it generates the data, calculations, and documentation you need to prepare and file reports. This includes proof gallon calculations, wine gallon tracking, monthly reporting packets, and audit trail support.
How secure is my data?+
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Each company's data is completely isolated at the database level. Permissions are enforced server-side, not just hidden on the frontend. User actions are logged for accountability.
Who controls user access?+
Each company has its own Master Admin who can invite users, assign roles, and configure granular sub-role permissions. You control who sees what, and changes are logged.
Where is my data stored?+
Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with automated daily backups. Backups are retained for 30 days. Your data is never shared with other companies or sold to third parties.

Support & Account

What support is included?+
All tiers include email support. Enterprise and Co-Packer tiers include priority support. Custom workflow and reporting support is available as a quoted add-on.
Can I export my data if I leave?+
Yes. You can export your inventory, lot, transaction, and production data at any time using the built-in export tools. Your data belongs to you.
How do I cancel?+
Contact us through the Contact page or from inside your account. Plans are month-to-month with no cancellation penalty. You can export your data before canceling.
Do you offer referrals?+
Yes. The CatOps Referral Program rewards you with account credits and free months for referring other beverage producers. See the Referral page for details.
